Tips for an Outdoor Autumn Party

Tips for an Outdoor Autumn Party

Autumn is the perfect time to host an outdoor party. The air is crisp and the settings that nature provides are amazing. Here are some great tips for an outdoor autumn party.

Decorations and party supplies– You really don’t need to spend a great deal of money on decorations and supplies for your autumn party since nature pretty much has all you need. You can create a walkway with bales of hay, or you can throw a blanket on the bales of hay and use them as seating. Pumpkins make great party decorations as do pine cones. Heck, with the leaves turning pretty shades of yellow, red and orange, you can use leaves themselves as decorations. Other ideas include white votive candles and twinkle lights.

Table décor and food menu– Scatter some leaves around the table for décor. You can also use autumn-themed dinnerware to polish up the fall look. If you are using wine glasses, consider wrapping the stems with leaf garland. A great table centerpiece for your fall outdoor party is a cornucopia filled with the fruits and vegetables of fall, or you can make a straw cornucopia and fill it with leaves and pine cones. If you are having a buffet, place fall scented candles on the buffet table. For the menu, you want to think fall foods that are hearty like stews and chowders, pumpkin pie, pumpkin bread and oatmeal cookies.

Party games and activities– Fall is the perfect time for a hayride or a bonfire. Hayrides are something people love, no matter how old they are. Bonfires are the perfect time to gather around, singing songs and roasting marshmallows. There are also some fun games you can play at your outdoor autumn party. Bobbing for apples is a popular game to play in the fall. It is easy to setup since all you need is a large tub, water and apples. The object of the game is for the players to pick up the apples in the tub, using their teeth only, no hands.'
