Visit The Doctor From Home With Amwell #MOMSLOVEAMWELL

May 16, 2017 in Babies, Mom Life

This is a sponsored post written by Saving Mamasita for Amwell. All opinions are my own.

If you haven’t heard of Amwell, let me tell you…this is the future. If you have an ipad, computer, or smart phone, YOU can have a visit with a doctor or health professional from the comfort of your own home.

Amwell is the nation’s largest telehealth company, connecting users with board-certified, licensed doctors for immediate and live, online visits—day or night, on either mobile or desktop. Some general conditions our doctors encounter include: minor illnesses and injuries, general health and wellness concerns, prescription refills, and chronic condition management. Amwell employs primary care and specialist physicians, as well as licensed behavioral therapists and registered dietitians, to meet patients’ health and wellness needs. Their most recent addition to our platform is lactation consultants. So, if you are a breastfeeding mom and have lactation questions, Amwell has professionals waiting to answer any questions you may have. Amwell doctors are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and are dedicated to keeping you healthy.

What I love about Amwell is how easy it is to use, how quickly I am connected to a professional and how affordable a visit really is.

I recently made an appointment with the lactation service that Amwell provides. As many of you know, not every hospital offers lactation consultation. What I loved about using Amwell is first of all, I was in my pajamas. I was able to ask my questions right in the comforts of my own home. Secondly, the website is user-friendly and I didn’t have to wait long to speak with a lactation consultant. Not only that, but the lactation consultant was very knowledgeable. All my questions were answered and I felt confident knowing that the change in my breasts after breastfeeding is completely normal.

New mothers have so many questions when it comes to breastfeeding their new babies, however, not every mother is able to see a board-certified lactation consultant to help answer those questions before leaving the hospital . What is amazing is that a video visit allows the consultants to assist with latching, breast pain due to feeding issues, questions about milk supply or going back work. Also, this service allows new mothers at any stage to get answers to their questions and issues usually within 24 hours of request.

I also want you all to know that Amwell offers so much more…services like doctor appointments, prescription refill, therapy and more.

About Amwell’s Lactation Services:
Lactation video consults allow new mothers to ask questions, address concerns, or get advice concerning breastfeeding and everything that comes along with feeding their newborn.

See a lactation consultant for common questions and issues associated with breastfeeding. The lactation services are provided by a network of International Board-Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLCs). They can provide help on a number of issues such as latching, breast pain due to feeding issues, questions about milk supply, pumping or going back to work or school as well as many more.

Learn more below AND 50% OFF 2 VISITS. Just use this code twice! EXPIRES 12/31/17. CODE IS: NEWMOM9 Please note that you have to put your credit card information in to hold the appointment, then once you log back in for your appointment time you will be prompted to enter the promo code.

This is a really great idea. Aside from the obvious benefits of being able to see a doctor from home, there’s also those who don’t have easy access to medical assistance due to living in a rural area and this kind of thing could be lifesaving! Love it

This is a pretty cool service. I wish I had an on call lactation consultant after having my first daughter.
I’ll admit it there are times I should go see the doctor but don’t because I don’t want to get more sick… because germs. This flu season they scared us here in the PNW, so much so I think we a lot of us opted out of going to see the doctor.

And Cassie brings up a great point, those in rural areas could totally benefit.

Amwell is a great service because this day and age you don’t want to have to an ER or urgent care center for every ache and pain or illness. I don’t need the lactation specialist but it is a great service for those who need it.

I’ve never heard of Amwell before. When I got mastitis I went to a health clinic. It’s similar to urgent care but more of a branch of the main hospitals we have here.
