Free Meals & Admissions for Military on Memorial Day

Memorial Day is the day we honor those who lost their lives serving their country. Several restaurants, museums, zoos and theme parks offer military personnel free meals and admissions on Memorial Day.


Firebirds Wood Fired Grill– Firebirds has locations in 18 states. Free lunch or dinner for active duty military members and veterans. Must show military ID.

Hooters– Hooters has locations in 44 states. Free meal from the Hooters Memorial Day Menu for military members and veterans. Must present valid military ID.

McCormick & Schmicks– McCormick & Schmicks has locations in 22 states. Free lunch or dinner entrée for veterans and active duty military members. Must show military ID.

Ninety Nine Restaurant– Ninety-Nine has locations in Massachusetts, Maine, Vermont, Connecticut, New York, New Hampshire and Rhode Island. Free meal from the $9.99 menu for active duty military personnel and veterans. Military ID required.

Perkins Restaurant & Bakery– Perkins Restaurant & Bakery has locations in 32 states. Free Magnificent Seven breakfast for active duty military personnel and veterans. Must show proof of military service.

Pie Five Pizza– Pie Five Pizza has locations in 22 states. Free customized pizza for active duty, retired military personnel. Military ID or proof of service required.

Shoney’s– Shoney’s has locations in 17 states. Free All-American burger and fries for veterans and troops. Military ID or proof of military service required.


Birmingham Zoo– Birmingham, Alabama- Free admission on Memorial Day weekend for veterans, active and retired military and their dependents. Must show proof of military service.

Blue Star Museums– Blue Star Museums has more than 2,000 museums in all 50 states. Free admission from Memorial Day to Labor Day, for active duty military personnel.

California State Parks– Free admission for active, reserve and veteran military personnel, with valid military ID.

Cincinnati Zoo- Cincinnati, Ohio- Free admission for active and retired military members, with government-issued ID.

King’s Dominion– Doswell, Virginia- Free admission for active, inactive or retired military members. Must show military ID or DD214.

King’s Island– Mason, Ohio- Free admission Memorial Day weekend for active and retired members of the U.S. military. Must present valid military ID.

Knott’s Berry Farm– Buena Park, California- Free admission Memorial Day weekend for active, retired or veterans with the U.S. military. Must show military ID or DD214.

Oregon Zoo– Portland, Oregon- Free admission for active military personnel and veterans, along with their families. Also, families of deployed military personnel receive free admission. Must show proper military identification.

Palm Beach Zoo– West Palm Beach, Florida- Free admission for active, reservist and retired members of the military. Must present valid military ID.

Pittsburgh Zoo- Free admission for all active duty, reservists and veterans of the United States military, with proper identification.

Shedd Aquarium– Chicago, Illinois- Memorial Day through Labor Day, free admission for active duty U.S. military personnel, including National Guard and Army Reserve and up to 5 family members.

    I wish some of the places around here offered some freebies for vets, but then again – Memorial Day isn’t for them….

      Actually many do all over the country you must check the website of. Many restaurants .. as a veteran I go to Buffalo Wild Wings, Appbeas, Red Robin, hooters, Mc Cormick and shmick, Perkins, bakers square, red lobster, I hear Shoneys, Olive Garden and IHOP, and so many many others offer FREE MEALS show military ID

  • What a great way to honor our service members. Unfortunately a lot of these places are not anywhere near I live but my city does have a special memorial day parade and a special lunch for the service people afterwards .

  • My cousin was in the military and I always appreciate how stores/restaurants give back to those who served. This list will be shared with him so he knows the options and what establishments are supportive of him.

  • I have to say American businesses are much better at supporting troops then Australians! Every time we visit the states you can feel the love and respect for the troops! Good on these businesses!

    My dad is retired Air Force. I will have to tell him about this if he and my mom are looking for a place for lunch or dinner that day.

    Another great way to honor our heroes.. I hope we also have these types of freebies for our great heroes in our country.

  • Coming from a Military family, i think this is wonderful. I remember working as a server on Veterans day at Applebees and we would give out free food and I love it. I really love that so many businesses are doing that little extra to honor vets on these holidays.
