There are two things we love in our household…technology and saving money.
It’s back to school time and my kids have been begging me for a new phone. I made them give me a good pitch as to why they needed one, and I am happy to say, they won their case.
My oldest is entering high school and is active in many activities. She doesn’t yet have her driver’s license, so her needing a ride from us still is necessary. My fifth grader is also starting to do more with his friends and often times, he won’t even show up back to our house until it is dinner time. And with his activities this year as well, we have been contemplating a phone for our son that would be easy for him to manage.
We had to figure out a way that we could do this the most affordable way as possible. After much research, we decided to head to Walmart.
Saving money is so important to us and I knew that Walmart Family Mobile would be a great option. Not only will we, as a family, save money on a plan, our kids can go to school with a new phone and we can get in touch with the kiddos if an emergency were to come up. At only $49.88 a month per line for 10GB of 4G LTE data PLUS of Unlimited talk, text and data, you can’t go wrong. What was an added bonus is that we will get a free movie (new release $7 value) a month per line from VUDU. For us, that is 3 free movies a month! It’s really awesome that you can stream the VUDU rentals via a SmartTV or another device like ROKU or via Chromecast. Hello movie night! And get this, since Walmart Family Mobile bills you later, you only have to pay $19.88 when you sign up for the “starter kit”.
We decided to purchase the Samsung Galaxy ON5 smartphone for our daughter, which was only $119. This phone has front and rear cameras so if she captures any moments of her friends, she can do it with her phone! This phone also has 8GB of internal memory and a microSD card slot that’s expandable up to 128GB, so she will be able to download all the music and apps she wants.
After discovering what Walmart Family Mobile has to offer us, we will not be changing our plan anytime soon. Visit the Walmart Family Mobile Hub to find an in-store event near you to meet with a Walmart Family Mobile rep. At the event you can get a code for a free power up for the Endless Runner Game on the Angry Birds Action! app.
We still have one more to get on our plan…eventually.
For now, we are letting her be a 6 year old.
We recently watched the Angry Birds Movie and after we watched the movie, the kiddos decided to make their own Angry Birds game. It’s fairly simple, but they had a blast knocking down the cups.
