Avoiding Christmas Burnout
Christmas is supposed to be a time of joy, festivities and loved ones. However, some people can easily get stressed out during the holiday season. This is not uncommon since most of us already have hectic lives as it is. Between the holiday parties, the shopping and the decorating, it is easy to get overwhelmed. Luckily, there are ways to avoid Christmas burnout.
Plan ahead– One of the most stressful things about Christmas is the shopping and the cooking. You can ease some of this stress by planning ahead. As it gets closer to Christmas Day, the stores will get busier and busier. Plan out your shopping list and your menu so you can get in the store and out in a jiffy.
Delegate tasks– Don’t try to handle everything on your own. While you may think that you can get things done faster and better if you do it yourself, it will only lead to exhaustion and burnout. During the hustle and bustle of the holidays, don’t be shy about delegating tasks. Have your significant other get what you need at the grocery store and enlist the help of your kids to clean and organize the house.
Shop online– If you can avoid those crazy store crowds, then by all means do it. Why hassle with the crowds and long lines at the store when you can sit at home in your pajamas with a cup of tea and shop online. You can shop from the comforts of your home, day or night. Most online retailers have deals and free shipping during the holiday season.
Get enough sleep– While the holiday season is a busy time of the year, you need to ensure you get enough sleep. You will not do anyone any good if you are trying to wrap presents and bake goodies while looking like a zombie. You need adequate sleep so that you are energized and ready to take on the tasks of the day, week and month.
I love this time of year. I never get burnt out.

I tend to take on too many project during Christmas. This year, I have narrowed it down to what’s most important to me and will skip the rest.

I avoid the burnout by planning ahead. When I see a great deal, I grab it. This helps take the burden off of the last minute shopping.
I am a Christmas maniac and I love it! But yes, sometimes it can get to be a bit much and I tend to get a bit overwhelmed. But I love this time of the year!
I hope I’ll get some sleep over the holidays, but I know I’ll be delegating TONS of tasks. I don’t cook. LOL!

I shop online, it’s so much easier than going to a store, ending up finding more than what you were after and with your total checkout $$ you know what you’re spending before you actaully hit finish order. I’ve found I spend way less this way
