#RecycleYourPeriodPad With A Shoe Hack For Happy Feet

Disclosure: Many thanks to Poise for sponsoring today’s story and encouraging me to try Poise, not period pads, for LBL!

Well peeps, it’s time to get personal! And, while this may seem like TMI for you, here’s what I like to say…it’s life, man! Life can get a little embarrassing with LBL (Light Bladder Leakage) and when you don’t have good coverage for those leaks, talk about a horrifying experience. I first discovered LBL after I had children and started to workout at the gym again. Running longer distances. Jumping rope. Yeah, it isn’t exactly cool when you feel like you have to pee in the middle of a fitness session.

That’s where Poise comes into play…in a good way. Poise pads aren’t period pads. They are pads to help with LBL. So that’s why I am not throwing away the period pads in my bathroom closet, but recycling them into something wearable.

Never used Poise pads? Get a FREE sample now right HERE for a limited time only.

And that’s just what I did with my period pads. I walk around all day for my job and want to look cute, but also be comfortable. Unfortunately wearing heels can come with consequences even if you are a skilled heel-wearing professional.

Before I share with you what I did with my old period pads, here is a little information for you about LBL.

WHAT IS LBL?
• One in three women experience Light Bladder Leakage (LBL) – little leaks that can be triggered by everyday occurrences like coughing, sneezing, laughing and exercise.
o Weak pelvic floor muscles, pregnancy, childbirth and weight gain are just a few LBL contributors.

WHAT CAUSES LBL?
Just as no two women are alike, there’s no single reason that LBL happens. Some of the most common things that lead to uninvited leaks include:
• Physical changes from childbirth, pregnancy, hysterectomy or menopause
• Being overweight
• Complications from surgery, stroke, or chronic diseases like diabetes, multiple sclerosis (MS) or Parkinson’s disease
• Bladder or urinary tract infections
• Bladder irritants (certain foods and beverages)

HOW CAN I BEST MANAGE MY LBL?
Women deserve the best options for managing LBL. Whether you leak a little when you laugh, or sometimes have a sudden urge to go, Poise gives you one less thing to worry about any time of day or night. Our pads and liners are specifically designed for LBL, which makes them an easy choice for the 1 in 3 women with light bladder leaks.

While I may look a little silly with these in my shoes, no one needs to see inside them, right? It’s all about comfort for me and these unused period pads make my feet happy after a long day of work.

  • I never thought of using my recycled pads for shoe cushions but it does make sense. It’s amazing what you can do with those things.

  • I bet those pads make you have some Happy Feet! I need to try this. My feet get sore sometimes.

  • I bet these would also be good if you had foot odor as well. I can really see how this would be a benefit being extra comfy

  • I’ve heard of using pads in your shoes while they sit in your closet and they absorb foot odor. I’ve never thought of using them as cushions though.

  • I would never have thought of doing this but what a fantatastic idea! x
