You know you’re a Mommy Blogger…

saving

If you are one of the countless “mommy bloggers” out there, you know life is not like everyone else thinks. Everyone thinks you just sit around on the computer all day, but you know the truth and reality. Here are some things that only you can understand.

You know you’re a mommy blogger when the kids are crying, you have a new recipe waiting to be tried, and product reviews to get done. Others may think you have all this free time during the day, but you know better.
Mommy bloggers have to be really good at scheduling out your days (and nights!) People on the outside think that you just go with the flow and make up things as you go along. They certainly don’t realize that you are running a legitimate business.

You also know you’re a mommy blogger when you stop your kids all the time to take photos. You need to get all those cute shots on your blog right away, right? You also like to use all the cute things your kids say every day. These make for some great little posts on Social Media. You look at your kids and think “Content for my Blog!”
You are a pro mommy blogger when you can juggle one or two kids on your hip, or hanging on your leg, while you type a blog post one-handed, and have dinner on the stove.

You know your are a mommy blogger when you are grocery shopping, see an interesting ingredient and immediately start thinking about what kind of new recipe you can make and post on your blog.
You know you’re a mommy blogger when you can post about a parenting issue and you already know who is going to come back with a negative comment about your opinion. Mommy bloggers have a thick skin and you can dish it out, but take it, too.

No two mom bloggers are alike, but if you are one of us, then you can appreciate everything we go through to keep our blog and career alive. Kudos to all of the mommy bloggers out there!

I can relate to all of these. It’s like my wheels are always turning.

  • Always thinking how something can be content for the blog 🙂 I so can relate!

I stopped the sponsored content on my blog and went back to just hobby blogging because it just took too much time from my kids and was not worth it. While I do not have reviews or the deadlines I am still – hey that would make a great post!

  • I can relate to a lot of these! I’m not a mommy blogger anymore, but I remember those days.

  • All so true! You know you’ve sucked your family in when your husband calls you to say “Hey! John’s wife if taking stained glass classes. It’s the next big thing. Maybe you should look more into that for blog posts!” lol

  • It’s so true, it is far harder than it looks. People just assume because you’re at home that it can’t possibly be tough, they are so wrong.

  • I didn’t blog when my kids were still living with me. I still have a lot of these behaviors though!

  • Ha, these things are so true. It’s funny being a mommy blogger. I think the kids like it too (though my teen doesn’t want to be ON the blog…so she’s not except for the rare times when she okay’s it 😉 ).

  • I’m an empty nest blogger and can’t imagine working this hard when my kids were younger. Kudos to all of you mommy bloggers!

I’m not a huge fan of the term “mommy blogger” but I do know what all that is like! My daughter already knows how to pose like a pro!

  • YEP. Spot on! I have 6 at home at all times so its hard and usually I have to wait until my husband is home at night and whip up as many posts as I can and schedule. I don’t know any mom who can sit at a computer all day let alone someone with 6 like me, people assume though!

  • Oh yes, I totally relate to that. I used to take a picture of the food before we eat and it was getting cold

  • It is definitely true that most people have the complete wrong idea about what being a mom blogger entails. It requires a lot of work and dedication.

I can relate a bit! I do more beauty and fashion but do Mommmy stuff once in a while as well 🙂

I totally relate to needing to constantly stop for pictures! I feel like I’m always saying, “wait, I need that for the blog!”

  • I am not necessarily a mommy blogger, as I blog about decorating and rarely my family life, but I can totally relate. I am always thinking of something new relating to my blog and work in general
