Straight Talk on Straight Teeth With Invisalign

Invisalign compare to braces

One of the happiest days of my life was when I got my braces taken off my teeth. But let me tell you it was a challenge (taking a lot of time AND money) before I was actually able to afford to straighten my teeth. I had a little problem with TMJ and my front two teeth were turned inward a tad and I was self conscious of my crooked smile.

After a couple of years of orthodontist appointments, including tightening and fixing broken brackets and annoying rubber bands, I now have a nice set of chompers. No pain, no gain? I suppose but apparently it doesn’t have to be THAT intense!

What I didn’t know a lot about at the time was Invisalign. And now that my 12 year old daughter is definitely going to need some orthodontic work, I have discovered that Invisalign Teen is available to pre-teens and teens and could be a viable option.

We have been doing a little research on the possibility of Autumn getting Invisalign versus the traditional braces and let me tell you what I have found is that Invisalign effectively treats a wide variety of orthodontic issues including severe bite issues. From underbite to crossbite, deepbite to overbite and overly crowded to widely spaced, advancements to Invisalign’s patented technology continues to increase the complexity of issues that can be treated.

And because my daughter is active in sports and plays the flute in band, with Invisalign, teens can play sports without fear of injury and continue cheerleading, musical instruments, acting and singing without interference. Because it’s removable, brushing and flossing is easy and no food restrictions to worry about either.

Invisalign Teen clear aligners straighten teeth without traditional wires and brackets giving teens the confidence to live life to the fullest while improving their smile. Visit the Invisalign website for more information.

Not all orthodontists specialize in Invisalign Teen. Visit www.invisalign.com and select “find a doctor” to locate experienced Invisalign and Invisalign Teen doctors in your area.

Invisalign Teen clear aligners are removable and can straighten teeth without a mouth full of metal and all the disruption and sacrifice that comes with it. With Invisalign, teens look better and feel more confident than they ever could in traditional braces. Take the Invisalign Smile Assessment to find out if Invisalign is right for you or your child.

Invisalign Teen is covered by most dental insurance policies just like traditional braces — up to 50% of the cost may be covered by insurance. For more information on cost and insurance coverage, visit the Invisalign website.

So will we go with the Invisalign route? It is a definite possibility!

And now my fabulous readers, there’s a Straight Talk Sweepstakes going on now through September 30, 2014 and you can enter to win a free Invisalign treatment.

I had heard invisalign was quite a bit more expensive than traditional braces. May have to take a look since it looks like my youngest may need something to straighten her teeth

  • It’s amazing how far orthodontics have come. There was none of this when I was a child. Invisalign looks like it might be a decent option for those in need of braces.

I, luckily had straight teeth growing up, but my sister had to have braces. She would have loved invisaling. I have heard only great things about them!

  • I never really knew much about invisalign. thank you for the information. I wonder why we were not offered Invisalign when my teen got his braces last year

I remember when Invisalign first came out and Tom Cruise was the first celebrity I saw wearing the device. My parents couldn’t afford braces and I have always wanted to change my crooked teeth. I am no longer a teen, but this is the biggest thing to hit the market in dentistry in our lifetime. Filing and implants are pretty much the same as they always have been, but Invisalign is AMAZING!!

This is the first time that I’m hearing about this product and I think it’s a good one. I had to wear braces for years and it wasn’t easy. I was so happy when my ortho finally took them out.

I am fortunate enough to have been a teenager that got to try Invisalign. I refused to wear any other kind of braces because I was embarrassed. This was the most amazing system, and my teeth look almost perfect now. The first few days were incredibly painful, but I loved how literally nobody knew I was wearing them and then one day was like huh..where did that gap between your front teeth go?

Very cool giveaway! I had braces when I was younger and they were the metal train tracks. I would have loved Invisalign.

  • You know I never thought of how braces might affect musical instruments. I hope Baby Mash will play something–so that is a good thought to keep in mind!

Thanks for such a great giveaway! hope I win!

  • I had once considered Invisalign to align my teeth straight. But because of the hefty price, I just decided to have the normal braces. Right now, I’m wearing clear braces which also look like Invisalign.

  • wow nice, even I had braces while I was young and I had them for full two years.. I mean I was disgusted, I used to think why in the world can I not have normal teeth like other people.. I’m so glad alternative options are available.. I never knew about this..

  • I entered, and I hope I win! I have been needing braces badly for years! this would e perfect for me because I don’t want people saying things to me about finally getting it done. There are some petty people in this world 🙁

  • So many teens worry about their looks and teeth. This is a great way to help them feel and look good while getting the treatment.
